CMP Partners With Local Schools To Plant Trees In Honor Of Maine Arbor WeekAugusta—May 19, 2022 — Central Maine Power (CMP) has partnered with Maine schools across the company’s service area to donate tree seedlings and coloring books in honor of Maine Arbor Week. CMP arborists will be delivering 750 seedings purchased from O’Donal’s Nursery in Gorham to students in grades K-12 throughout the week. Additionally, CMP arborists will be distributing over 550 electrical safety coloring books, 200 CMP “Trees are Good” coloring books and 20 Forest Trees of Maine Books, which were purchased directly through the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.
“Maine is known for its picturesque landscape and as a Mainer myself, I take deep pride in maintaining our state’s natural beauty,” said Joe Purington, president and CEO of CMP. “I hope this partnership with local schools instills that same sense of pride in future generations of Mainers.”
