Winter Storm Elliott Restoration Update from CMP President Joe Purington 7:30 pm 12/24

7:30 pm

A day after Winter Storm Elliott tore through Maine with wind gusts up to 65 mph for nearly 18 hours, CMP has restored power to more than 65% of the 300,000 customers affected by the storm, including more than 85,000 customers today.

We have had 550 line crews and 230 tree crews working today and we will add another 150 line crews tomorrow. We made significant progress on restoration today and expect to do the same tomorrow. We will continue to work 24 hours a day to restore our remaining customers, and expect the vast majority of customers to be restored by the end of the day Tuesday.

We will be updating estimated restoration times (ETR) as crews are assigned to each outage. Please enroll in Outage Alerts so we can send you the estimated restoration time when it is assigned. You can also learn your ETR using our automated phone system or online at cmpco.com.

We Mainers are resilient, even in the face of this winter weather. Please check in on your neighbors and we’ll get through this together. Thank you for your patience; we will not stop until all of our customers have their power restored.

Sincerely,

Joe Purington
President and CEO, CMP
