Dear CMP Customer,

For the second consecutive weekend, Mainers have faced stormy weather that has caused widespread power outages. We know many of you have lost power in both events and want to assure you that we are working to restore power and repair damage as quickly and safely as possible.

CMP positioned 550 line crews and 230 tree crews across our service territory yesterday so that they would be able to respond quickly when outages began to occur. And they have been working all day to clear downed lines and trees from roadways to keep local communities safe and be sure emergency vehicles can get through. The weather has been extremely windy with 65 mph gusts along the coast and in the Moosehead region. Other parts of the state have seen gusts in the mid 50’s mph range.

As we get roads cleared to see the extent of the damage, and as the winds die down so that line workers can safely go up in the bucket trucks to restore power, we will be providing estimates of when to expect your power back. Given the duration of this storm and the ongoing winds we expect that restoration will be a multiple day effort.

Please consider signing up for Outage Alerts so that when an estimated restoration time is determined, we can send it directly to you. You can sign up easily online at cmpco.com/alerts or by using our free Mobile App.

We know that it’s a holiday weekend and Mainers want to enjoy time with friends and family. We’ll restore power as quickly as we possibly can, and we will provide you with updates each day to keep you informed about our progress. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Joe Purington
President and CEO, CMP
