Central Maine Power Launches New Mobile App
App enables secure, easy account management and information access
AUGUSTA, Maine — September 10, 2020 — Central Maine Power (CMP) is pleased to announce the launch of a new mobile application available for both iOS and Android devices.
“CMP’s new mobile app is another tool in our ongoing campaign to improve customer communications for both bill paying convenience and storm outage reporting,” said CMP Executive Chairman, David Flanagan. “Customer research tells us that customers like the convenience offered by apps and they want more flexibility in interacting with the company; the app allows them to manage their accounts or get information when they want it from wherever they are.”
The release of the app at CMP comes after a year of development by parent company AVANGRID and enthusiastic customer adoption at CMP’s New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut-based sister utility companies. To date, nearly 157,000 AVANGRID customers outside Maine have downloaded the app and more than 5700 CMP customers have already put it to use.
CMP’s app provides an innovative and personalized customer experience tailored for mobile devices. Designed to help customers with their most frequent transactions and inquiries, the app enables secure mobile account management.
“Every new CMP customer offering is tied to our customer experience guidelines that promote convenient options, customizable and personalized service and interaction with customers in their preferred channel,” Flanagan added. “We have been hearing more and more that an app is definitely a preferred channel for many customers and we are committed to keeping it updated to continue to meet customer expectations.”
Since launching at the AVANGRID affiliate companies last fall, the app has been updated and improved for launch in Maine. The app is easy to use and secure – customers may access their account by logging in with their fingerprint or facial recognition.
Using the app, customers will be able to:
• View account information and enroll in CMP services such as ebill, AutoPay and SimplePay
• Make payments
• Report outages
• Check on an outage status
To download the free application, customers should search “Central Maine Power” in the Apple or Android app stores. App users must have or establish a free CMP online profile which can also be completed using the app or on the CMP website
