New TOU Supply Option

A new “time-of-use” or TOU standard offer for electricity supply is now available.  This TOU Supply Option consists of lower, off-peak prices for electricity supply. Your electricity usage will be priced based on the time of day that you use it and, by switching your use of electricity to off-peak hours, you may save money on your electricity bill.

How does this work?

  1. Evaluate the option.
It’s up to you to decide if a time-of-use option could help you manage your electricity costs. We have developed a price calculator that will work with your smart meter usage data to help you decide. You should also consider the electricity you use during on-peak times and assess whether you could move those activities to off peak hours.
  2. Enroll.
You may choose this option during the enrollment period of December 1, 2012 through January 31, 2013. Once you enroll, you will remain on this pricing option unless you decide to change plans. You may de-enroll at any time but, you will have to wait a full 12 months to be eligible to enroll during the next open enrollment period. The new prices will begin March 1, 2013.
  3. Look at your bill in April.
You will see the price you paid for electricity during on-peak and off-peak hours. Use this information and, the information in our new on-line Energy Manager tool to help you manage your use of electricity.
