CMP crews gain ground on storm recovery as winter weather continues
AUGUSTA, Maine, February 28, 2010, 7:00 a.m. — CMP reports crews made progress overnight, while snow and slippery roads add new outages. As of 7:00 a.m., approximately 35,000 homes and businesses were without power. CMP crews have restored power to nearly 100,000 customers since the outages peaked at 133,000 on Friday morning, however new snow and slippery roads contributed to new outages in many counties. CMP crews will continue their work today in the remaining communities in southern and coastal Maine.
