TODAY: AVANGRID and CMP Hosting Special Hiring Event

Event in Response to Pixelle Androscoggin Paper Mill Closure

AUGUSTA, ME — March 23, 2023 — AVANGRID and Central Maine Power (CMP) will be hosting a special hiring event on Thursday, March 23, at La Fleur’s Restaurant in Jay, Maine, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The hiring fair is in response to the closure of Pixelle Androscoggin Paper Mill, which was announced last month. Food will be served.

“We have made a commitment to Maine that AVANGRID would do everything it could to support people impacted by Pixelle’s decision to close their facility. The Jay Mill has long been a fixture in western Maine, and we intend to offer as many opportunities as we can to support those communities that have been affected,” said AVANGRID CEO Pedro Azagra.

Of the more than 80 positions open in Maine, roles are available in the fields of engineering, customer service, operations, project management, systems/technology, construction, and operations.

“CMP has more than 80 open positions in Maine right now, including both field and corporate roles,” said CMP spokesperson Jon Breed. “We want to help. Whether you are a Pixelle employee impacted by the recent mill closure, or just someone ready for a new career opportunity, we invite you to join us, share a bite, and learn more about careers at Central Maine Power.”

In addition to the open roles located in Maine, AVANGRID is also offering remote working opportunities. These jobs would allow potential employees to work remotely supporting AVANGRID companies in New York, all while living and working in Maine.
