CMP Welcomes KVCC 2024-2025 Lineworker Apprentice Class
The class will soon begin training at CMP’s Lineworker Training Facility in Farmingdale.
Augusta, ME — July 22, 2024 — This week, Central Maine Power (CMP) is welcoming graduates from the lineworker training program at Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) in Fairfield. This class will now become lineworker apprentices with CMP and begin training at the company’s specialized facility in Farmingdale, Maine, building on a close, six-year partnership between KVCC and CMP to directly onboard graduates of this program.
“We’ve proudly trained generations of lineworkers for lifelong careers at CMP over our 125-year history,” said Adam Desrosiers, CMP Vice President of Electric Operations. “We’re very much looking forward to welcoming this group of KVCC grads and congratulate the class of 2023-2024 whose members are now deployed to our regional service offices across Maine.”
The lineworker apprentices who successfully completed CMP’s training program in Farmingdale during the 2023-2024 year are now at the beginning of an approximately four-year process that, if also completed, leads to an apprentice becoming a fully rated 1st Class lineworker.
