CMP Marks Veterans Day with Flag Raisings and Continued Support of Veteran Organizations
AUGUSTA, ME – November 11, 2025 – Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid, proudly honors our nation’s heroes on this Veterans Day with flag raisings at its Augusta headquarters and Portland office in tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country, those who continue to serve, and those who remain missing.
Veterans from our CMP family shared reflections on their service and what Veterans Day means to them. Veterans make up nearly 5% of CMP’s workforce.
“Veterans Day is a time to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have defended our freedoms,” said Linda Ball, President and CEO for Central Maine Power. “At CMP, we are proud to employ veterans whose leadership, discipline, and commitment to service strengthen our workforce and our communities. We are equally proud to support organizations like the Travis Mills Foundation, Mission Working Dogs, and The Summit Project, whose work uplifts and empowers Maine’s veteran community. Today and every day, we thank our veterans and reaffirm our commitment to standing with them.”
CMP is longstanding partner with several Maine-based veteran’s organizations including Boots2Roots, American Legion Charles S. Hatch Post 79, Operation Reboot Outdoors, The Summit Project, Mission Working Dogs, and the Travis Mills Foundation.
“We’re incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with CMP,” said Heather Labbe, Executive Director of the Travis Mills Foundation. “Their support helps us provide life-changing programs for post-9/11 recalibrated veterans and their families and empowering them to overcome physical and emotional challenges, strengthen family bonds, and experience the rest and relaxation they so deeply deserve. Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient community for our nation’s heroes.”
