CMP joins United Way’s 70th Anniversary Day of Action

 

A team of 14 CMP employees painted a fence at an Augusta playground to support United Way’s mission of giving back to the community

 

Augusta, ME — July 25, 2025 – Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid Inc., proudly partnered with the United Way of Kennebec Valley to celebrate the organization’s 70th anniversary Day of Action by volunteering in the local community.

 

Held on July 17, 2025, the Day of Action brought together more than 120 volunteers across 13 sites in Kennebec County, all working to strengthen community ties and demonstrate the power of collective service.

 

A team of 14 CMP employees participated by painting a fence at Cunningham Park in Augusta, helping to revitalize a cherished space for neighborhood children.

 

“Our CMP employee team was proud to participate in the United Way Day of Action and give back to our neighbors,” said Katie Yates, Director of Community Relations for Central Maine Power. “Improving and cleaning up this important play space for children in our community adds a renewed sense of spirit to a place where kids can play, grow, and thrive. We’re honored to be part of a community that comes together to make a difference, and we’re grateful to United Way for organizing such a meaningful day of service.”
