AUGUSTA, ME – April 21, 2026 – Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid, Inc., hosted its third annual ‘Girl Scouts Unplugged’ event on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in partnership with Girl Scouts of Maine. Nearly 15 Maine Girl Scouts and their troop leaders from towns including Chelsea, Portland, Albion, Sabattus, Gray and Bridgewater enjoyed a full day of activities, tours and presentations at CMP’s headquarters in Augusta.

“Girl Scouts Unplugged gives Maine girls a front‑row seat to real‑world, hands‑on experiences in the electric utility industry,” said Linda Ball, President and CEO of CMP. “As a traditionally male‑dominated field, it’s critical that we open doors, break down barriers, and help young women see themselves in these careers and know that leadership roles in this industry are within their reach. Our team is thrilled to support this event through our partnership with Girl Scouts of Maine. Together, we’re inspiring the next generation of confident leaders for Maine.”

These real-world experiences empower girls to dream bigger, grow their confidence, and know that exciting, high-impact careers are possible right here in Maine.”
