AUGUSTA, ME – January 28, 2026 – Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid, has added four new all-terrain Prinoth Track Bucket Trucks to its fleet, enhancing the company’s ability to reach remote and rural areas across its 11,000-square-mile service territory. These specialized vehicles will play a critical role in storm response and routine maintenance, ensuring reliable service for CMP’s 660,000 customers.

The Prinoth Track Bucket Trucks feature a 55-foot bucket height and a compact design that minimizes ground impact, making them ideal for navigating challenging terrain. Equipped with advanced technology for easier cold-weather starts, these trucks can be deployed on both transmission and distribution lines.

“These vehicles expand our fleet and strengthen our ability to serve customers in every corner of Maine,” said Eric Sutton, Vice President of Electric Operations and Projects for Central Maine Power. “They have been a vital resource this season, especially as Maine has faced significant winter weather. Their versatility allows crews to access snowy trails and difficult rights-of-way, perform maintenance, and make repairs quickly and safely, even on energized lines, without interrupting service.”

CMP’s fleet now includes more than 800 vehicles and trailers used to build and maintain Maine’s electric grid and respond to outages during severe weather. The company operates approximately 25,000 miles of power lines, including 2,900 miles of transmission lines that serve large numbers of customers.
