CMP Customers Report Higher Satisfaction Year-to-Year
AUGUSTA, ME – February 5, 2026 – Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid, Inc., today announced that the company has seen an increase and continued upward trend in key metrics that measure customer satisfaction.
These metrics are collected after a customer engages with CMP. For example, a survey can occur after a customer uses the company’s app. Customers can also participate in surveys following interactions with the CMP Customer Service Team.
From 2024 to 2025, CMP’s Customer Satisfaction Score (CSat) increased from approximately 84% to 87%. This was in conjunction with the company receiving a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 31, continuing an upward year-over-year trend since 2023. This score far surpasses the industry average of 12, according to Qualtrics XM.
These scores are also accompanied by positive anecdotal feedback from customers in 2025 including the following:
• “I feel I am always getting help with anything I am calling about in a professional and respectful manner, no matter what the issue is. I moved to Maine over 40 years ago and have never had any reason to think differently.”
• “I fell a bit behind on my bill payment and the service person I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and very understanding and helped me set up a more affordable payment schedule. I appreciated her kindness and help. Thank you.”
• “My experience with phone and in-person support has always been amazing. We appreciate the teams who risk difficult conditions to help restore power to Mainers!”
“For three years in a row, we’ve exceeded our operational and customer service metrics set by the Maine Public Utilities Commission. This satisfaction data, along with numerous customer comments validates our efforts to provide excellent service to our customers,” said Linda Ball, President and CEO of CMP. “We have more ways than ever for customers to access information about their accounts, their CMP service and to manage their energy usage, including our mobile app, our website, web chat and conversations with customer service representatives. We’re grateful that customers are noticing the efforts our teams have put into developing these tools and making meaningful customer service improvements. We’re committed to continuing our momentum in this direction.”
In the past several years, CMP has launched a refreshed Energy Manager tool and Usage Alerts, to give customers tools to understand and manage their electricity usage, digital Home Move functionality, an online portal for contractors performing upgrades, as well as a modernized outage portal for when customers need us the most. Each of these tools gives Maine residents and businesses more control over their electricity bill and more time back in their day.
