Central Maine Power Extends Customer Care Center Hours

New Contact Center hours are 7:30a.m.-6:00p.m. Monday through Friday

AUGUSTA, Maine— March 2, 2020 — Central Maine Power Company is pleased to announce that, effective this week, it has extended the hours of its Customer Care Center in Augusta for an extra hour and is now open for customer calls between 7:30am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday. As the company continues to find ways to improve service to customers, extending contact center hours offered a quick solution to better accommodate their needs.

“We know our customers have busy lives and we heard from some of them that adding to our customer service hours would be welcome,” said Linda Ball, CMP’s Vice President for Customer Service.  “With spring around the corner, and people starting to think about opening their seasonal camps, we usually see an uptick in calls this time of year, so this roll out of extended hours is timely.”

CMP employs 91 Customer Care representatives in Augusta and a new training class of 14 representatives will start work later this month. The new Customer Care Center schedule goes into effect this week, with representatives available from 7:30a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday for customer service inquiries. In addition, Customer Care representatives remain available 24 hours a day, every day, for electrical emergency calls.

For those customers who prefer online support, CMP also has convenient self-service options available including outage reporting, bill payment tools and Energy Manager, a tool that allows customers to see how much energy they use at any time of day through www.cmpco.com.  Customers may also opt in to text alerts to receive updates about usage and outages.
