CMP Storm Recovery On Track for Tuesday Completion

AUGUSTA, Maine, October 31, 2011, 9 p.m. — Central Maine Power Company (CMP) reports 2,200 customers without power as of 9 p.m. Monday. The company expects to complete repairs in most parts of the state by later this evening, although a number of towns in York County are likely to have some customers out overnight. The number of outages in York County has dropped rapidly throughout the day as additional crews have funneled into the region. The Company expects to have service restored to all customers by noon on Tuesday.

“We moved lots of crews into the southern part of the state from the outset, because this area really bore the brunt of the storm,” said John Carroll, Central Maine Power spokesman. “We’ve restored nearly 54,000 outages in York County alone. As we consolidate our crews into the remaining few towns, we expect the final phase of the restoration to move quickly.”

Customers in York County or any customers who do not have power this evening are encouraged to call CMP for more information on the estimated time of restoration in their area.
