Central Maine Power Reports 88,000 Outages at Mid-day


AUGUSTA, Maine, August 30, 2011, Noon — Central Maine Power Company (CMP) reports 88,000 customers without power as of noon. Outages from Hurricane Irene peaked at nearly 187,000 customer accounts around 9:00 Sunday night, and the company estimates that nearly 280,000 customers lost service at some point during the storm.
