CMP’s Smart Meter Program Will Be Topic of Public Forum in Bath
AUGUSTA, Maine, April 20, 2011 — Central Maine Power Company’s (CMP) Smart Meter program will be the topic of a public forum in Bath next month.
The forum will take place Monday, May 2, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the Bath City Hall Auditorium, 55 Front Street.
Representatives from CMP will be on hand to describe the program and its benefits, and to answer any questions local residents may have about the Smart Meter program.
Along with helping customers to better track their energy use, the Smart Meters will also help CMP reduce costs, enhance system planning, and pinpoint problems more quickly during outages.
CMP plans to install more than 600,000 Smart Meters throughout its service area. The installations began in September of 2010 and are expected to be completed early in 2012.
