Photos of storm damage in York County
Here are some photos taken Saturday and Sunday of storm damage in Berwick and Eliot. The storm that came through Thursday night and Friday morning packed heavy rains and strong winds in excess of hurricane force in some areas. The rain saturated the ground about tree roots, and the winds blew thousands of trees down onto power lines.
The photo above shows a snow-coated softwood that was uprooted by strong winds and fell onto utility lines in Berwick.
Here, Central Maine Power Company crews work to put several sections of line back atop poles along a country road in Berwick.
In Eliot, a large tree broke under the force of high winds and fell onto this mobile home.
