CMP crews continue power restoration
Crews will be present in every town where outages are reported
AUGUSTA, Maine, Dec. 14, 2008, 12 noon — Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) reports an estimated 85,000 customer accounts remained without service at noon on Sunday. The company reported that repair to its primary distribution feeders is nearly complete. As repair work is completed in more areas, additional crews will be moved into southern and coastal Maine.
With the storm repair in its third day, CMP expects to have one or more crews in every town where outages have been reported throughout its 11,000-square-mile service area.
Following is a list of remaining outages by Service Center. Each Service Center includes the city or town listed, along with a dozen or more surrounding communities:
Alfred: 59,000
Augusta: 200
Bridgton: 30
Brunswick: 17,600
Portland: 8,500
Rockland/Belfast: 50
Total: 85,380
