CMP crews wrapping up storm recovery

AUGUSTA, Maine, Nov. 27, 2008, 10 a.m.— Central Maine Power Co. reports that it has just over 2,000 customers without power this morning. The company said that more than 400 field personnel will work through the holiday to repair the remaining scattered outages in Kennebec, Lincoln, Knox, and Waldo counties by early evening. CMP workers have been joined by local utility contractors and tree crews and crews from New Hampshire and Massachusetts to help with the recovery. At the peak, the storm left more than 35,000 customers without power Tuesday evening.

Outages by service center are listed below. Each service center includes the town or city listed, plus a dozen or more surrounding communities:
     Augusta:  50
     Brunswick:  480
     Fairfield:  49
     Rockland/Belfast:  1,590
     Total:  2,169
