Central Maine Power appoints new manager for Brunswick Service Center

Don Holt will oversee utility operations in Midcoast communities from Yarmouth to Waldoboro

AUGUSTA, Maine, October 27, 2008 — Central Maine Power Company’s (CMP) Brunswick Service Center is under new management. Don Holt, a 33-year veteran of the utility, has taken over leadership of the division. Holt takes over the post at a time when the company is investing heavily in new equipment and stepped up maintenance efforts in the region.

“We’re making a lot of new investments to enhance our service in those communities,” says CMP Operations Vice President Doug Herling. “Don’s experience and leadership will be a real plus for our operations.”

CMP manages its day-to-day operations through seven regional centers. In addition to the greater Bath-Brunswick area, CMP’s Brunswick Service Center serves coastal communities from Yarmouth to Waldoboro, including several peninsulas and islands. The Service Center also covers inland towns including Durham, Lisbon, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Dresden, Alna, and Jefferson.

Holt has been spending his first weeks on the job becoming more familiar with the service area and the projects under way to enhance system reliability. They include upgrades to substations in Damariscotta Mills, Newcastle, Edgecomb, and Boothbay Harbor, and a very visible increase in roadside trimming to reduce outages from contact with trees.

“The people here at the Brunswick Service Center have a strong commitment to doing all they can to enhance service to homes and businesses,” said Holt. “I’m happy to be part of that team, and I’m looking forward to getting out in the community to meet with customers and businesses in the area.”
