Time-of-Use (TOU) Delivery Rate
The optional residential Time-of-Use delivery rate, also called the TOU rate, may be a good option for customers who can shift most of their electricity use to off-peak hours.
Because every home uses electricity differently, the best way to know whether this rate could help you save is to use the Residential Optional Rate Calculator located in your online account. The calculator compares your current delivery rate with available optional residential rates using your historical usage information, so you can make a more informed choice.
How the TOU rate works
The TOU rate charges a lower delivery rate for electricity used during off-peak hours and a higher delivery rate for electricity used during on-peak hours. Generally, customers may save on the delivery portion of their bill if at least 86% of their total electricity use happens during off-peak hours.
Effective July 1, 2026, the TOU on- and off-peak hours and rates are as follows:
Hours
- On-Peak Hours: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays)
- Off-Peak Hours: All other hours
