Weather storms more easily by preparing ahead of time

We're ready for the worst weather and we want you to be ready, too. Here are tips for staying safe.

Stay away from wires on the ground

Always stay away from downed power lines. Even lines that appear dead can be deadly. Refrain from removing tree debris as downed power lines may be entangled in them. Please call 800.696.1000 to report downed power lines or other hazardous situations.

Report your outage

If you are experiencing an outage, call our hotline to report your service interruption: 800.696.1000.

Flooded Basements

Please stay clear of flooded basements because energized wiring or outlets below the water line may pose a hazard. Contact us at 800.696.1000 to turn off your electricity.

Life-Sustaining Equipment

If you use life-sustaining equipment that operates on electricity please contact us at 800.750.4000. We will enroll you in one of our critical customer programs and provide you with specific advice on how to prepare for power interruptions. In the event of severe weather, you will receive an automated call to remind you to have everything you need to weather the storm.

After Your Power is Restored

If your basement or home was flooded, have an electrician check your home and have a plumbing and heating contractor check your appliances before contacting CMP to have services turned on.

Replenish emergency supplies used during the storm.
