Central Maine Power On Track to Wrap Up Storm Recovery Tonight
AUGUSTA, Maine, February 9, 2013, 12 5 p.m.— Central Maine Power Company (CMP), a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, reports 320 remaining outages following the blizzard that swept through Maine Friday and Saturday. The storm caused 18,420 outages beginning around noon on Friday, with a peak of 11,467 on Saturday morning.
The utility had made extensive preparations as the storm approached New England, and crews were able to keep pace with repairs as outages were reported during the storm. CMP expects to restore power to all customers by later this evening, although the possibility of further scattered outages or inaccessible damage may prolong the recovery.
