Maintenance outage to affect customers in western foothills

 

AUGUSTA, ME, June 18, 2010 – Central Maine Power Company (CMP) needs to disrupt power to an estimated 1,370 customers in five western foothills towns early Sunday morning, June 20, to perform maintenance on a circuit that serves the area. Workers need to replace poles and upgrade other equipment on the distribution grid to enhance service to the area.

 

The outage will begin at midnight. CMP expects to have power restored by 5 a.m. Sunday. In the event of inclement weather, the work will be postponed to the same early-morning hours on Sunday, June 27.

 

“This outage is needed so our crews can work on this equipment safely and efficiently,” says CMP spokesman John Carroll. “We scheduled this work for the overnight hours to minimize inconvenience to customers, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding.”

 

The outage will affect the following streets and roads:
