CMP plans outage for parts of Franklin County to bring new circuit on line
AUGUSTA, Maine, Nov. 5, 2007 — Central Maine Power Company will disrupt service to an estimated 4,300 customers in several Franklin County communities early Saturday morning, Nov. 10, to complete upgrades to the power grid serving the area. The outage area will include a part of Farmington plus all of about a dozen rural communities to the north along Routes 27, 234, 146, 16, 142, and 145.
“The outage is needed so our crews can safely complete work on a new circuit and other improvements to serve added load in the area, including Nestle’s new Poland Spring water bottling plant in Kingfield,” says CMP Spokesman John Carroll. “Our lineworkers and contractors will be working through the night to transfer lines onto new poles and complete connections. This is one of a number of projects we have taken on to improve system reliability and to support economic development in the region.”
The outage is scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. Work should be complete — and power restored — by 5 a.m. In case of inclement weather, the work will be performed during the same hours the following morning, Sunday, Nov. 11.
